How do I get a free lesson?

First, register the learner driver on our registration page.

You will need:

  • Learner's permit number
  • A unique mobile number (not previously used with our website)
  • A unique email address (not previously used with our website)

Holders of international driving permits upgrading to an Australian licence are NOT eligible for a Keys2drive free lesson.
To be eligible for a Keys2drive free lesson the learner driver MUST hold an Australian learner's permit and be progressing to their P-plates only.

Upon successful registration, you will be sent an 8 digit free lesson ID number to the mobile number you registered.

Search for a driving instructor by using our Find a driving instructor page.

Lessons can be booked by learner drivers or by parents/supervisors on behalf of eligible learners. Call or email the instructor you choose and book a time for both of you to attend (learner and supervisor).

What to bring

Learner drivers
  • learner’s permit/learner licence
  • your Free Lesson ID number
  • glasses if you need them to drive
  • a current Australian full driver’s licence.

What if I can't make my booked lesson?

If you are unable to attend the free lesson you have booked, contact your driving instructor and let them know at least 24 hours in advance. If you provide 24 hours’ notice, you will be able to re-schedule the lesson.
